Shannon Robert Guinn, age 49, of Ducktown, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019, at Fannin Regional Hospital. He was born July 11, 1970, in Copperhill. Shannon was an electrician. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. Shannon was preceded in death by his brother, Jamison Shawn Guinn.
Survivors are his wife of 22 years, Teresa Mashburn Guinn of Ducktown; father, James Robert Guinn (Cindy) of Morganton; mother, Sherry Guinn of McCaysville; brother, James Landon Guinn of Blue Ridge; sister, Kristen Cole (Josh) of Turtletown; father-in-law and mother-in-law, the Rev. David Mashburn (Pat) of Epworth; sisters-in-law, Deborah Smith (Eric) of Mineral Bluff and Pamela Mashburn of Tampa, Florida; brother-in-law, Jonathan Mashburn of Epworth; nieces and nephews, Riley Cole, Caden Cole, Willow Cole and Jude Conguta; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 28, 2019, from the Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Contardi, the Rev. Billy Ray Queen and the Rev. Gary Patterson officiating. Music was by Amy Young, Tara Contardi and The Billy Wayne Chastain Family.
Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jonathan Mashburn, Eric Smith, Josh Cole, Eric Chastain, David Curtis, Mark Young, Stacy Nicholson and Drew Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers were all male members of Damascus Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Blue Ridge, located at 171 Mineral Springs Road, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
