Ronald Douglas Gillespie, age 72, of Blue Ridge, passed away December 22, 2019, in Copper Basin. Mr. Gillespie was born October 7, 1947, in Carnesville, Georgia, to the late Charles W. Gillespie and the late Mildred Bellamy Gillespie.
A member of the Baptist faith, he was also a member of the Kiwanis and the Whitepath Golf Club and he was a class of 1969 graduate of the University of Georgia. Mr. Gillespie loved the Georgia Bulldogs and was well known as the owner of Fannin Drugs for 37 years. Mr. Gillespie was a very loving father and husband and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Gillespie; son, Todd Andrew Gillespie; daughter, Leighanne Gillespie (Chris) Lusk; brothers, Charles W. (Ann) Gillespie Jr., Harold (Linda) Gillespie and Larry (Cindy) Gillespie; and grandchildren, Emma Gillespie, Megan Gillespie, Meredith Lusk and Isabelle Lusk.
