The Rev. Roger Winston Elliott, age 71, of Blue Ridge, passed away at his home, August 28, 2022.

He was born in Cumming, Georgia, to the late Theodore and Jewel Yother Elliott, September 16, 1950.

Roger loved serving his Lord through his preaching and attending Big Creek Baptist Church. He had served as pastor in several churches in the area. Roger loved spending time in the outdoors, especially if it involved hunting and fishing. However, most of all he loved spending time with his family and certainly helping others while most time cracking jokes and just simply enjoying life. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Marlin Elliott, Terry Elliott, Billy Elliott, Martha Jean Stern, Deborah Elliott, Beverly Drew and Peggy Elliott.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Elliott; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Missy Elliott; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and William Stone, all of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Chloe Clemmons, Cora Clemmons, Chance Stone, Will Stone, Zack Stone, Carolyne Stone, Dalton Pope, Hunter Elliott, Tyler Elliott, Austin Vic and Tanya Hedden; great grandchildren, Bentley Hedden, Reeves Hedden, Logan Elliott, Ethan Elliott and Eva Elliott; brothers, Solomon Elliott of Dawsonville, Georgia, and Estes and wife, Holly Elliott of Acworth, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services for the Rev. Elliott were Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 4 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with  the Rev. Jo Dan Wilkins and the Rev. Byron Tillery officiating.

Music was provided Melinda Fox and Mitzi Stewart. Interment followed in the New Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the  Rev. Billy Cantrell officiating and music provided by Chris Pope.

Pallbearers were Scott Blankenship, Rodney McVey, Cody Childers, Randall McGill, James Stanley and David Reynolds. Selected to serve as honorary pallbearers were: Randy Mulkey, Cody Mulkey, Clifford Chastain, James McGill, Norman Childers and Hunter Elliott.
