Mrs. Marie W. Long, age 84, of Skeenah Gap Road, Suches, Georgia, passed away at her home following an extended illness.

She was born December 1, 1937, in Suches, to the late Willie and Velma Gregory Watkins, and was a lifelong resident of Fannin County.

Mrs. Long loved being with her family, also having fun, laughing, reading and crocheting. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Long; brother, J.N. Watkins; sisters, Irene Troy and Cecilia Rutledge.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Bob Moosmann of Kannapolis, North Carolina; son, Michael Long of Suches; grandchildren, Kevin Moosmann, Brian and Victoria Moosmann; great grandchildren, Colton Moosmann and McConnor Raffaldt; brother, Larry Watkins of Suches; sisters, Shirley Watkins of Atlanta, Georgia, Betty Dailey of Blairsville, Dianne Wilson of Suches, Patsy Simmonds of Suches, Florine Chastain of Suches, Kathleen and Leroy Head of Shiloh, Georgia, Marvine Crawford of Blairsville, and Mildred Levi of Melton, Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Mountain View Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Moosmann, Brian Moosmann, Harry Leach, Terry Long, Robert Dailey and Ken McBee. Interment followed in Sugar Hill Baptist church cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
