Louise Brown

Mrs. Louise Brown, age 90, of McCaysville, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mrs. Brown was born September 19, 1929, in Wolf Creek, North Carolina, to the late Oscar Simonds and the late Pearl Amburn Simonds. 

She was a member of First Baptist Church McCaysville, the Order of Eastern Star McCaysville Beaulah Chapter and the Betty Cadle WMU Group. Louise was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with family and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Simonds; mother, Pearl Amburn Simonds; husband, George A. Brown; brothers, Clarence Simonds and Winfred Simonds; and sisters, Julie Helton and Lorene Brooks.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Dugger) Kiker and Sandra (Charles) Acker; adopted daughter, Gilita Carter; sister-in-law, Janet Allen; grandchildren, Alden (Josh) Falls and Price (Beth) Acker; and great-grandchildren, Ava Acker, Hudson Falls and Charles P. Acker IV. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Music was provided by Jimmy Allen. 

Interment followed in Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Brooks, John Querry, Randy Denton, Chance Querry, Josh Falls, Greg Brooks, Bill Simonds and Price Acker. Honorary pallbearers were the Copperhill Grief Support Group.
