Joyce Rogers

Mrs. Joyce Lynn Rogers, age 68, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Born on June 3, 1951, in Clayton, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Trina Satterfield Lambert. She was a member of Helping Hand Fellowship Church. She was a foster parent, who throughout the years, helped to foster more than 200 children. She was bright and happy and enjoyed singing. She traveled throughout Missouri singing with a Southern Gospel Group, the Inspirationals. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Don Lewis Rogers. 

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Chris and Susan Canote, Jason and Tracy Canote, Christopher Rogers, Lannie and Amber Stewart, Linda and James Fitts, Donna Whitener and Glenda Rogers; sister, Iris Teague; grandchildren, Phoenix Lewis, Gabriel Lewis, Emily Lewis, Ezekiel Stewart, Samantha Carey, Adam Canote, Zachary Canote, Alexander Canote, Johnathan Canote, Allison Canote, Natalie Canote, Charlotte Canote, Victoria Canote, Nicholas Canote, Darrin Canote, Jeremiah Canote, Aleah Canote, Blake Canote, Kimberly Canote, Julie Queen, Nathan Fitts, Brandon Whitener, Eric Whitener and Kristen Weaver; and 14 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge chapel with the Rev. Wesley Davenport officiating. Interment followed in the Sweet Gum Baptist Church Cemetery with Darrin Canote, Jeremiah Canote, Blake Canote, Phoenix Lewis, Jimmy Lake and Wayne Jones serving as pallbearers.
