Jim Jones

Mr. Jim Gordon Jones, age 79, of Blue Ridge passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, at AccentCare Hospice in Cumming.

Mr. Jones was born February 19, 1943, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, to the late Leo Eddie “Red” Jones and Hazel Ruth Walden Jones.

He had worked and retired as a boilermaker and was a member of the Boilermakers Local 454. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Anne Jones.

He is survived by his children, Jade Jones, Jacob Jones, Jana Jones, and Jodie Jones; a brother, Charley Thomas; grandchildren, Slate Jones, Kasidy Jones, James Stanley, Kayla Watkins, Jasmine and Josiah. He is also survived by a host of great grandchildren, other family members, and friends.

Visitation was held at Akins-Cobb in Blue Ridge Sunday, November 27, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Jones was held Monday, November 28, 2022, in the chapel of Akins-Cobb of Blue Ridge beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Danny Morris officiating. Interment followed the service in the Young’’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jade Jones, Jacob Jones, Slate Jones, Chet Akins, Sam Paris, and Charley Thomas.
