Jack Collins

Jackson “Jack” Evan Collins, age 69, of Turtletown, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022. Jack was born in Ducktown, to the late Oscar Collins and Mildred Verner Collins. He worked for Cities Service until his accident in 1978.

Jack owned and operated his own business called “Copperhead Hot Shots” until he retired. He loved his family so much. Jack was married to the love of his life for 50 years. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and was passionate about the Tennessee Vols. Jack loved Copper Basin Cougar sports, especially getting to watch his children and grandchildren play.

He is also preceded in death by his sister, Joann Pelham.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lavonne Collins, of the home; children, Melissa (Kevin) Lance, Michelle (Brock) Foster, Shannon (Amelia) Collins, Stephanie (Bobby) Hilliard and Rachel Sparks; grandchildren, Brittani (Kendall) Peters, Dakota Sosebee, Peyton Sosebee, Austin (Valorie) Lance, Carder Lance, Zach Hyatt, Devian Rush, Kade Foster, Demi-Rhea (Brent) Davis, Scout (Caleb) Deal, Easton Collins, Emery Collins, Elijah Weaver, Colton Mathis and Georgia Sparks; great grandchildren, Lynnox Peters, Creed Hyatt, Willow Hyatt, Cash Hyatt, Deacon Davis and Elexander Lance; and siblings, O.P. (Mary Ann) Collins, Leah Ruth Collins-Gordon and Sharon (Gary) Morrow.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 7 p.m. from the Chapel at Akins-Cobb with the Pastor Jeremiah Jack officiating. Music was provided by Gina Carmichael and Paula Culver. Jack’s grandsons were pallbearers for the service.

Any floral arrangements sent to the service were requested to be appropriate for the home.
