Glenda Stamey

Mrs. Glenda Sue Stamey, age 81, of Epworth, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020, at her home in Epworth. Mrs. Stamey was born March 21, 1938, in Epworth, to her late parents Roy Querry and Doris Fisher. Glenda was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of McCaysville. Mrs. Stamey enjoyed being a part of the Georgia Mountain Classic Car Club in Blue Ridge, who enjoy their classic cars. She also enjoyed cross-stitching. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Querry and Doris Fisher; and sister, Linda Gail Querry.

Survivors include her husband, Fairley Stamey; daughter, Cindy Mauldin (Ron); and grandchildren, Kelsey Appleby (Tré), Kayla Mauldin, Zachary Mauldin and Rachael Bonner (Brian).

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 29, 2020, from the Chapel of Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Matthew McDaniels and the Rev. Danny Collis officiating. 

Interment followed in the Epworth First Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were: William Querry, Terry Bohannon, Stanley Simmons, Tony Daves, Zachary Mauldin and Gerald Long. Honorary Pallbearers were: Georgia Mountain Classic Car Club, Amanda Ware and Max Pittman.
