Geneva Geraldine Arp Anderson, age 91, of Mineral Bluff, passed away December 12, 2019, at her home. She was born in Murphy, November 3, 1928, to the late Walter Arp and Hattie Golden Arp. She and her late husband, George, owned Anderson Ford, where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Anderson; parents, Walter and Hattie Arp; brothers, Herbert Arp, Hubert Arp, Herdis Arp and Denver Arp; and sisters, Praise Curtis, Donnie Prince, Mae Simonds, Marie Crowe, Helen Arp and Rena Standridge.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Doug) Cheek of Mineral Bluff and Carolyn Pettyjohn of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Rachel (Patrick) Vaughn, Ryan Cheek (Whitley Reece) and Todd (Nikki) Cheek; great-grandchildren, Ethan Vaughn, Cole Vaughn and Anderson Cheek; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Graveside services were conducted Sunday, December 15, 2019, from the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy with the Rev. Steve Ware and the Rev. Jerry Bandy officiating. Music was provided by Alissa Cheek. Ryan Cheek, Todd Cheek, Larry Cheek, Derek Cheek, Chase Locke and Trey Sisson served as pallbearers. Nephews served as honorary pallbearers.
