Gary Otis Williams, 80, of Mineral Bluff, passed away peacefully Monday, May 16, 2022, at his home surrounded by his children. Gary was born November 25, 1941, in McCaysville, to Otis and Virginia Williams.

Gary worked at Cities Service Company in the mining department for many years rising to the position of Mining Captain at Cherokee. Gary was also on the Mine Rescue Team.

Gary loved taking rides through the mountains, spending time with family and friends, hunting and sitting on the river.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Williams; father Otis Williams; mother Virginia Williams; sister, Nancy Stymus; brother-in-law, James Stymus; and his beloved dog Belle.

He is survived by his sons, Van Williams and Eric (Holli) Williams; daughter, Amy (Dean) Bryant; sister, Linda Hicks; grandchildren, Cory (Jennifer) Bryant, Cayley (Jay) Hamilton, Bretton Williams and Cadan Williams; and special caregiver, Natalie Deal.

He dearly loved his family and his church, Williamstown United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held Sunday June 5, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Williamstown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Lovell officiating.

The family will receive friends at Williamstown United Methodist Church Sunday, 5th of June, 2022, from 1 p.m.until 2p.m.
