Elsie Lucille Padgett, age 95, of Turtletown, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019. She was born in Turtletown December 19, 1923, to the late John Wesley Burger and Ruth Mariar Stuart Burger. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemer Edgar Padgett; son, Dennis Padgett; and sisters, Jewel Verner and Pauline Taylor.
She is survived by her children, Norma Gibson and Mary Millholland; grandchildren, Sandra (Danny) Presley, Melanie (Jay) Pelham, Jamey (Samantha) Taylor, Victor (Danette) Gibson, Sharon (Gary) Oliver and David Padgett; great-grandchildren, Matthew Nicholson, Michael Nicholson, Taylor Presley, Kylie Presley and Nicholas Gibson; and great-great-grandchildren, Liam Nicholson and Owen Nicholson.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, November 29, 2019, from Maple Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Renny Whittenbarger officiating. Music was provided by Ed Vest and Ralph Grice.
Interment followed in the church cemetery with Jamey Taylor, Nicholas Gibson, Danny Presley, Harold Dillard, Glen Hughes and Matthew Nicholson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Vic Gibson, Gary Davis, James Pelham, Bobby Kajander and Michael Nicholson. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
