Elrend Tipton

Elend Haskell Tipton, 75, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family.

Elend was born November 12, 1947, to the late Haskell & Sybil Tipton.

Elend was a deacon and member of Concord Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and his church family. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. One of his favorite things to do was read his Bible.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Tipton; daughter, Andrea Tipton Higdon and husband, Anthony S. Higdon; son, Adam Tipton and wife, Gail R. Tipton; daughter, Alanna Tipton Greene and husband, Tim Greene; grandson, Devin Greene and wife, Megan Greene; granddaughter, Deanna Grace Greene and fiancé Jory Smith; and grandson, Derek Greene. He is also survived by his sister, Angie Tankersley and husband, Kenny Tankersley; Shane Tankersley and family, as well as Shea T. Wimpey and family.

The Funeral Service was held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Fleming officiating. Interment followed in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen served as honorary pallbearers,  Wayne Allen Cruse, Scott Cruse, Lee Cox, Hayden Crawford, Matt Lord and Vaughn Galloway.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers,  Devin Greene, Derek Greene, Tim Greene, Jory Smith, Shane Tankersley and Anthony S. Higdon.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Rev. Adam Fleming for officiating, the honorary pallbearers; the pallbearers, Concord Baptist Church; Coletown Baptist Church; the Office of Marilyn Williams; the Office of William Whaley, M.D.; the Office of Tamim Kharrat, M.D.; Union General Hospital Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation; Affinity Hospice; the North Georgia Honor Guard; the Fannin County Sheriff’s Department for assisting the funeral procession and anyone who visited, sent flowers and said a prayer.
