David E. Panter, 94, of Suches, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, surrounded by family.

David was born April 8, 1928, in Dial, Georgia, to Loy and Blanche Panter.

David was a hard worker and a steward of the land who loved farming and sharing the fruits of his labor with his friends and family. He put his family first and was always willing to help friends and neighbors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was well-traveled and had a wonderful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loy and Blanche Panter; son, Leon Panter; brothers, Herbert Panter and Everett Panter; and sister, Willa Adams.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; son, Randall Panter; daughter, Elaine Burch; son, Richard (Martha) Panter, and daughter, Angela (Jay) Cox; sister, Bonnie Lance; brothers, Hubert Panter and Edward (Vickie) Panter; and sisters, Gail (Stephen) Price and June (Jamie) Brunny; grandchildren, Brett Panter, Daniel Burch, Cody Panter, Krystal Panter, Brandon Panter, Jordan Pachman, and Alexis Cox; and great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Panter, Cameron Panter, Malechiah Panter, and Addie Panter.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 2 p.m. from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Garrett officiating.

Interment followed in the Sugar Hill (Salem #1) Cemetery.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Randall Panter, Richard Panter, Jay Cox, Brett Panter, Daniel Burch, Cody Panter, Brandon Panter and Hunter Pachman. Honorary pallbearer was Ray Davis.

The family received friends at Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 11a.m. unitl 2 p.m.
