Charles Arp

Charles Edward Arp, age 71, of Morganton, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in his home. Born November 22, 1948, in Murphy, he was the son of the late Howard Carlton Arp and Ettie Lee Cole. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as a mechanic.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Jo Ann Arp; sons, William (Rebecca) Rhodes of Copperhill, Rickey Brown of Blue Ridge and Randy (Virginia) Brown of Morganton; daughter, Sandy Waldropt of Burnsville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Danielle (Christopher) Crowder, Austin Rhodes and Dylan Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Sue Crowder, Jon Crowder, Sawyer Rhodes and Dominique Rhodes; and sisters, Darlene Collins, Marilyn Phillips and Sara Arp. 

Graveside services were conducted Saturday, February 22, 2020, from New Liberty Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Richard Peacock officiating. Elbie Cole, Austin Rhodes, Dylan Rhodes, Chris Crowder, Junior Bell and William Rhodes served as pallbearers. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
