Mr. Charles Dean “C.D.” Busbin, age 83, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019. He was born March 8, 1936, in Tifton, Georgia, to the late Johnson Wiley Busbin and Omega Head Busbin. He was a deacon at Wilscot Baptist Church. Mr. Busbin served as a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He later worked as a Surveyor for Watts and Browning. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Rose Matthews Busbin; sisters, Jenny Busbin, June Sumner, Barbara Phelps and Billie Welch; and brothers-in-law, Dick Matthews and Fred Wayne Matthews.
He is survived by his children, Teresa (Ted Dwayne) Wheeler of Morganton and Charles Busbin Jr. (Young Kim) of Jasper, Georgia; brothers, Wiley Johnson Busbin of Douglasville, Georgia, and Arthur Busbin of Stockbridge, Georgia; grandchildren, Keri Denise (William Kevin) Beavers, Jaimes Lee, Kristina Wang and Jason Busbin; great-grandchildren, Lucas Dean Callahan, Dillan Lee Taylor, Kaylie Grace Taylor, Wyatt Lewis Taylor, Hope Beavers, Faith Beavers, Kepler Charles Lee, Navy Lorraine Lee, Elaina Davis and Samantha Brooke Busbin; and brothers-in-law, Bud Sumner and Aaron Welch.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 30, 2019, from Wilscot Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Interment followed in the Upper Wilscot Cemetery with Charles Busbin Jr., Lucas Callahan, Wyatt Taylor, Brandon Lee, Ted Wheeler and Wang serving as pallbearers.
