Buford Arp, age 95, of Mineral Bluff, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at PruittHealth Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Blue Ridge. He was born December 21, 1923, in Blue Ridge to the late Homer Pearl Arp and Nora Bell Arp. Buford was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II, a member of Temple Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon there in 1956. He retired from AT&T in Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by wife, Eloise Mason Arp; siblings, Fred Arp, Lois Gladson, Montene Henson and Hazel Arp; granddaughter, Michelle Strickland; great-granddaughter, Stephanie Bloom; and great-great-grandson, Benjamin Bloom.
Survivors include daughters, Judy A. (Ronnie) Bennett and Regina (Danny) Parris; grandchildren , Mike (Lisa) Parris and Daryn (Tammy) Bennett; great-grandchildren, Kristi (Jason) Robinson, Kelli (Will) Burnett, Richard (Nina) Owen, Lizzie Bennett, Ryan Bennett, Brooke Owen and Mac Smith; and great-great-grandchildren, J.P. Bloom and Audrey Bloom.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, October 25, 2019, at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Parris and Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Music provided by Greg Norton and Gil Farmer.
Interment followed in Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens with military honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Danny Sanders, Steve Watkins, Bill Kendall, Daryn Bennett, Ted Weaver and Roger Beck.
