Bobby Bright

Mr. Bobby Joe Bright Jr., 51, of Blue Ridge, passed away peacefully  Sunday, June 19, 2022, in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Bright was born September 1, 1970, in Hiawassee, Georgia., the son of Bobby Joe Bright Sr., and the late Jolene Rogers Bright.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the deer camp. Bobby Joe had a great sense of humor. At the time of his death he was employed with Union County as the Solid Waste Director.

He was preceded in death by his mother and also his grandparents, Luther and Flora Bright; H.A. and Addie Kate Rogers. Bobby Joe was a member of Confidence United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Melinda Floyd Bright of Blairsville; his father, Bobby Joe Bright Sr.. of Blairsville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sharonda and Trevor Mann of Athens, Georgia, and Megan Bright of Blairsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Alex Bright of Cleveland, Georgia; five grandchildren, Avery Bright, Kaylee, Jason, Aubree and Ethan Mann, and several cousins. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Randolph Jones officiating. Special music was presented by Britt Jones and Toby Whitfield.

The following gentleman served as honorary pallbearers, Dustin Rogers, Jeff Tanner, Jacob McCallister, Bryan Nix, Bob Dorton, Erik Strayer, Roger Thomas, Ricky Thomas, Joe Turner and Travis Morgan.

Interment followed in the Confidence Methodist Church Cemetery. The family met with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 p.m.
