Betty Robie Harrison Spurling, age 82, of Ducktown, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Spurling was born in Blue Ridge, June 26, 1937. She retired for ADH Sewing Plant and was a member of Mount. Harmony Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, yard sales and outside work.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and the love of her life, Junior Daniel “Preacher” Harrison who passed away in 1988; her second husband, Carl Spurling; a daughter, Kathy Culberson; a great-grandchild, Dallas Lynn Cook; as well as her parents, Robert N. Rhodes and Florence Richard Rhodes; and her seven siblings.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Connie Cook of Ducktown, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Tim Cook, Jesse Cook, Justin Cook, Cody Clark and Korey Clark; five great-grandchildren, Lacey Barnes, Landon Cook, Kyliegh Cook, Cage Cook and Kreidynce Cook; a special niece Tina Dilbeck and her husband Matt Dilbeck; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from Mount Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Timmie Joe Hemming and the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music was provided by the Mount Harmony Church Choir. Pallbearers were Tim Cook, Jesse Cook, Justin Cook, Cody Clark, Korey Clark and Matt Dilbeck.
