Six candidates entered local races when election qualifying got underway Monday, March 2, in the Fannin County Board of Elections and Registration office. A total of three local contests are open during this 2026 mid-term election cycle.

Leadership class hears from Fannin leaders

Every year the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce & CVB sponsors Leadership Fannin. Once a week, typically from February through May, the program takes its participants on an educational tour through a different part of life in Fannin County.
Several members of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) at Fannin County High School  returned from region competition having earned the right to move on to the state level. FFCLA members earn spots in state event

Fannin County High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter returned from region competition Saturday, February 7, with a trio of awards. Competitors brought home two first place and one second place honors.
