Qualifying opens Monday morning, March 2, at 9 a.m. for the Post 2 seat on the Fannin County Board of Commissioners and two seats on the Board of Education.
According to an announcement from Sonia Smith, election superintendent, qualifying will continue daily through Friday, March 6, at noon.
Political parties will qualify candidates in the Board of Registrations and Elections office on the third floor of the Fannin County Courthouse.
The fee to qualify for the commission seat is $180. That seat is currently held by Glenn Patterson who has announced he will not seek re-election.
The school board seats in the election are those currently held by Bobby Bearden and Mike Cole. The qualifying fee is $360.
The fees represent three percent of the annual salary for the respective offices.
The General Primary/General Non-Partisan elections will be held Tuesday, May 19.
