Desma Chastain

Desma Joan Chastain, age 85, of Naples, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021.

She was born August 4, 1936, in Blue Ridge, to the late Fred Marvin Towe and Pearl Key Towe. Desma was a member of First Baptist Church of Naples. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Desma is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Millie Ippilito; brothers, Alton Towe, Dale Towe, Jerry Towe and Billy Towe; and sisters, Doris Green and Elaine Ayers.

Desma is survived by her husband, Paul Chastain Jr.; son, Joel (Tracy) Chastain; daughter, Paula Chastain; son, Michael Chastain; grandchildren, Faith (Brian) Lyons, Jeni (Brad) Kaaber, Kaylee (Grant) Evans, Joel C. Chastain, Jonathan Chastain, Ethan Chastain, Matthew Chastain and Jeremy (Megan) Ippilito; great-grandchildren, Risto Lyons, Anneli Lyons, Braden Kaaber, Lauren Kaaber, Bryce Kaaber, Dominic Evans, Vincent Evans and Madison Ippilito; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Music was provided by Donna Bramlett and Mary Jo Towe.

Interment followed in the Young’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jonathan Chastain, Ethan Chastain, Joe Ballew, Steve Towe, Tim Towe and Dee Horton.
