McCaysville residents need to pay very close attention if they want to have any input into the future atmosphere of the city.
At a workshop last week, the city’s council members heard a lengthy list of requests to change the city’s alcohol ordinance. Almost every one is a mirror image of allowances that were removed from the original ordinance by the previous council. Those include permission for such things as happy hours, package sales and alcohol in the city park.
Changing the ordinance is up to the city council. Members of the group need to hear from residents because any change will affect the face of the city forever.
The question for residents is simple, “Does the City of McCaysville want to become another Blue Ridge?” The decision rests with the council. Residents should make themselves heard.
