The spirit of giving continues to be alive and well in Fannin County.
Among those stepping up and meeting the growing needs of the less fortunate among us have been all the volunteers who took part in this year’s Shop with a Cop.
School Resource Officers, school officials, the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office staff and countless volunteers from throughout county government and the community all worked together.
From fund raising to the big shopping days, the effort to help area children was tremendous.
This, of course, was one of only many, many programs throughout Fannin County and the Copper Basin designed to put smiles on the faces of young people at Christmas.
And, like all the folks in the other programs, the Shop with a Cop team earns a huge vote of appreciation.
The people who help, who reach out, are the real reason this little corner of the mountains is such a great place to live.
