Wesley Ensley

Mr. Cleaston “Wesley” Ensley, age 80, of Morganton, passed away August 16, 2021, at his home.

He was born February 28, 1941, in the Mobile community to the late Homer and Eunice Patterson Ensley. Wesley was employed with Serenity Sleep Products in Alabama as a furniture sales representative. He loved spending time with his family, watching all sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Wanda Lee Stiles, Nora Jane Ensley, Lillian Lorella Higdon, Vernette Sue Carringer, Kenneth Ensley and Wonette Foster Ensley; and one granddaughter, Emily E. Nix.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Nunag Ensley, born in the Philippines but now of Morganton; children and their spouses, Benjie and Stacy Ensley, of Blue Ridge, Kevin Christopher Ensley, of Epworth, Roselyn “Apple” Tolentino, of Marietta, Georgia, and Remzon Manipon of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Stephen (Sarah) Ensley, Weston River Ensley, Braylon Nix, all of Blue Ridge, and Aaleyah Major of Marietta; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Sandy Ensley of Epworth; sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Paul Parker of Miami, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 1 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge with Rev. Michael Collis, Rev. Michael Carringer and Rev. Rex Carringer officiating.

Interment followed in the Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Stephen Ensley, Braylon Nix, Steve Gray, Paul Queen, Anthony Powell, David Garland and Kevin Christopher Ensley. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Arthur “Mack” Garland, Evans Ensley, Charles Jones, Butch Anderson and Donald Roberts.
