Mr. Timothy Dillard Grant Sr., age 62, of Knollwood Road, Mineral Bluff, formerly of Ducktown, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 31, 2021, following an extended illness.
Timothy was born October 9, 1958, in Miami, Florida, son of Martha Jean Dillard and the late Julian Lewis Grant Sr. He was a proud firefighter for North Fort Myers Fire Department for many years, and he thoroughly enjoyed serving his community. Timothy was known for his creativeness, also having been an engineer. He owned and operated the Blairsville Pines Plaza. Timothy is preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Julian and Mark Grant. He attended Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Della Grant of Mineral Bluff; mother, Martha Jean Grant of Arcadia, Florida; three daughters and one son-in-law, Brittney Grant of Mineral Bluff, Lacy Ausburn of Mineral Bluff, and Shelby and Jamison Dottore of Cleveland, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Taylor Grant Jr.; one sister and brother-in-law, Cathee and Kevin Durrance of Arcadia; sister-in-law, Sharon Grant of Fort Myers, Florida; and eleven grandchildren, Thomas Greer, Rylee Greer, Landon Greer, Grant Arp, Allie Ausburn, Aubree Stone, Lainey Grant, Lawson Grant, Lucy Grant, Dawson Dottore and Kinzee Dottore.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 7 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. The family met with friends Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Flowers are being accepted, or if you wish, the family requests that donations be made to the Fannin County Volunteer Fire Department in Timothy’s memory.
