Thomas Taylor

Thomas Lee Taylor, 76, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away February 11, 2021.

He was born June 7, 1944, in Emporia, Virginia. He proudly served in the United Stares Army for 22 years, being stationed in Vietnam, Germany and Washington, DC, among other duty stations. He served as a state trooper in New Hampshire and owned Tom Taylor Insurance Company, where he sold Medicare products for various insurers.

Tom was a gregarious people person who never met a stranger. His wit and good nature endeared him to all who met him. His smile and laughter will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. He enjoyed reading, especially biographies, watching old western movies, John Wayne’s in particular, and traveling. In 2019, he traveled to the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Hungary by riverboat. His other travels included Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and Hilton Head, South Carolina.

He is survived by his daughters, Heather and Jennifer and their families; his fiance, Lynn and her family; and by many friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held April 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Interment will be at a later date in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
