Tedra Herrington

Tedra Angel Herrington, age 38, of Winter Garden, FL, gained her angel wings on September 29, 2021.

Tedra was born in Cartersville, Georgia, August 27, 1983. She was a 2001 graduate of Fannin County High School and, in 2005, graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, earning her Bachelor of Science.

Tedra was an exceptional wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She treasured her children, Della and Amelia, and embraced every moment with them. All will miss Tedras’ vivacious personality and ability to make people laugh. She cared deeply, was generous and was always the first to offer help. She enjoyed spending time with family and was always looking forward to the next family vacation. Tedra was a wonderful woman that was loved, will be missed and will always be cherished.

Tedra was preceded in death by grandmothers, Frances Payne Brown and Phyllis Angel; and grandfathers, Wilford Payne and Ted Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Herrington; her two daughters, who made up the entirety of her world, Della, age 12, and Amelia, age 6.

Besides her husband and children, Tedra is also survived by her parents, Eva and Ricky Newberry and Jerry and Bonnie Angel Jr.; grandfather Jerry Angel Sr; her brothers, Stephen Angel, of Blue Ridge, Michael Angel, of Turtletown; and sisters, Brook Norton, of Danville, Virginia, and Laura (Brady) Lloyd, of Graham, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Cynthia (Stephanie) Knight, of Atlanta; nieces and nephews, Riley, Brodey and Avrey Angel, Isaiah, Olivia and Lucas Angel, Kaylee (Parker) Brown, Keelah and Keaden Twiggs,  Alexandria and Landon Norton and Henry Knight; and great-niece, Elliana Brown.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 4 p.m. at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Terry Stuart and Pastor Leonard Castleman officiating.

Interment was in the Crestlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Stephen Angel, Michael Angel, Keaden Twiggs, Riley Angel, Isaiah Angel, Brodey Angel, Avrey Angel, Mitchell Godfrey, Corey Godfrey and Kevin Peppers.

The family received friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, of McCaysville, Friday, October 8, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m, and Saturday, October 9, 2021, from noon until 4 p.m.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, of McCaysville.
