Beloved mother, Peggy “Sue” Gullick Richards, 77, of McDonough, Georgia, left this earth after a lengthy illness, Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 5:38 p.m. in hospice care surrounded by loved ones.

Sue was a fighter to the end, and she is now at peace. She was born August 24, 1943, in Houston, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Mary Helen (Robbins) Gullick of Washington, Pennsylvania.

She grew up in Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. She settled in Georgia in the early 1970s, and her last home was in McCaysville.

Sue enjoyed spending time at the river with family and friends, fishing and being with her grandchildren. She loved to prepare meals for the sick or broken hearted. She liked to travel.

Surviving her are her five children, Kathy A. Holder of McDonough, Helen Sue Chandler of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Caroline Nicolella Miller, of Williamson, Georgia, John C. (Patty) Nicolella of Hampton, Georgia, and Joseph P. Nicolella of Blue Ridge; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and two siblings, Cecelia (Tom) Hunter of Cambridge, Idaho, and William Richard (Dicsie) Gullick of Star, Idaho.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Wayne Richards; her parents, Paul and Helen Gullick; siblings, Paul R. Gullick Jr., Mary E. Beall, Dewey Ray Gullick Sr., and Danny Thomas Gullick; grandson, Army Specialist Justin R. Jarrett; and great-grandsons, John Carlos Gaskin and Ethan David McFadden.

She will be forever loved, and forever remembered by friends and family.

There will be a celebration of life Saturday, June 26, at 901 East Tennessee Avenue, McCaysville at noon until 4 p.m. for those who knew and loved her and wish to celebrate her life.
