Clara Sue Vaughn Dickson was born in Honea Path, South Carolina December 8, 1935, to her parents Wilbur Clifton and Helen Greer Vaughn.

She went to be with her husband Ray and daughter Susan in her heavenly home January 18, 2022. She is survived by her older sister Margaret Cox; her son-in-law Bruce Fowler Sr.; and grandson and family Bruce Fowler Jr., wife Heather; and great-grandchildren Celeste, Chandler, Melody, and Makenna. Many extended family members and friends including numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews celebrate the life of Sue.

Growing up in Honea Path Sue loved swimming and was a member of the Yellow Jacket cheerleading team. She fell in love with Ray and they were married in Honea Path and soon had her daughter and the apple of her eye, Susie.

She was a valued employee at Southern Bell and ended her career at Scientific Atlanta. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with family, attending church and singing in the choir, and cooking. She enjoyed rooting on her only grandson, “Bucky,” and often let her inner-cheerleader out on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons.

Sue lived a long life where she touched numerous lives and gave immeasurable love to many. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones, but they take comfort in knowing she is whole again in Heaven and walking the streets of gold with her husband and daughter.

Sue will be laid to rest  Sunday, January 30, at 2 p.m. beside her husband Ray and daughter Susie at Hemptown Baptist Church at a graveside service.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m..
