Ruby Hester Kirby, age 88, of Blue Ridge passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at Sonshine Manor in Blairsville, Georgia.
She was born December 27, 1933, to the late Fred Green and Cleo Powell.
Ruby worked for many years in the family restaurant, Cleo’s in Blue Ridge, and later, worked for the Cobb County Board of Education as the head custodian. After retirement, she enjoyed gardening and canning.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Dylo Bradley of Blue Ridge; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Kayleigh Kirby of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, James Kirby and Joshua Mortimer; brother, Ray Green of Alabama; sister, Frances Chapman of Canton, Georgia; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 2 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. A private family graveside service is planned for a later date.
