Ron Zak

Ronald (Ron) Zak, age 83, of Blue Ridge, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Pruitt Health Care.

Mr. Zak was born October 12, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Phillip Andrew Zak and the late Bernadine Katherine Meyer Zak. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Epworth and a veteran of the United States Air Force and Navy. Ron was employed by the United States Federal Government for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Andrew Zak; his father, Phillip Andrew Zak; his mother, Bernadine Katherine Zak; and his sister, Marilyn Kaestle.

Survivors include his wife, Edith (Edie) Ruth Zak; sons, Steven (Cheryl) Daniel Zak and Robert (Stephanie) Brian Zak; daughter, Lisa (Pete) Zak Marin; 10 grandchildren, David (Taylor) Zak, Jonathan Schuler, Chris Zak, Megan (Michael) Burnham, Corissa McCormick, Nick Marin, Kristin Schuler, Mariah (Bryon) Proctor, Matt Marin and Will Marin; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece, Kathi Vandermolen, as well as other nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Friday, November 26, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Chris Clark officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Doug Simonds.

Interment will follow in First Baptist Church of Epworth Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made towards the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Leukemia Foundation or Ronald McDonald House.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home, of Blue Ridge.
