Rex Alvin Wilcox

Rex Alvin Wilcox, age 66, of Turtletown, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, at his home.

He was born February 18, 1955, in Copperhill, to the late Fred and Mattie Morgan Wilcox. Rex had worked as a food processor at a chicken plant. He was a member and deacon at Community Baptist Church. Rex enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching Western shows and movies. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mattie Morgan Wilcox; and brother, Melburn Wilcox.

Survivors are his wife of 39 years, Kathy Wilcox, of the home; son, Alvin Wilcox (Stephanie); daughters, Brittany Wilcox Jordan (Matt) and Tonya Howell (Clint); grandchildren, James Colt Colvin, Kadence Howell, Ashley Howell, Oakley Howell, Brayden Wilcox and Jonathan Jordan.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the Community Baptist Church with Rev. Mitchell Allen, Rev. Randall Payne and Rev. Paul Ray Morgan officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Paul Ray Morgan, Rev. Randall Payne and Gracie Payne.

Interment followed in Zion Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clint Howell, Alvin Wilcox, Matt Jordan, Mike Pickelsimer, James Cochran and Jason Farner. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Joe Dunn, Colt Colvin and Jeremy Coleman. The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, September 14, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour of 2 p.m. at Community Baptist Church.
