Mr. Philip Elliot Forde age 84, of Cassidy Lane, Morganton, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 20, 2021, at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Forde was born June 6, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of the late Clifford Forde and the late Dorothy Elliot Forde. He was a veteran of the United States Army of the Korean War. Philip enjoyed woodworking and playing the guitar. He played at his church and sang in the choir. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Laurie Bird and Sandy Carter; a brother, Clifford Forde; and a sister, Mae Mittag. Philip was a member of Hemptown Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Forde are four sons and one daughter-in-law, Randy Forde, of Arkansas, Gary Forde, of Minnesota, Russell and Laura Forde, of Roswell, Georgia, Scott Payne, of Nashville, Tennessee; one daughter, Nikki Ray, of Roswell; one sister, Nell Conda, of Minnesota; six grandchildren, Jessica, Rozie, Crystal, Michael, Cassidy and Michael; several great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.

Interment will follow in the Hemptown Baptist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hemptown Baptist Church in Philip’s memory.
