Peggy M. Caldwell, age 84, of McCaysville, passed away at her home Thursday, September 30, 2021.
Mrs. Caldwell was born December 17, 1936, in Gastonia, North Carolina, to the late Fred Crisp and the late Eunice Smith Crisp. She was a member of Bethel Church in McCaysville for 25 years. Peggy enjoyed shopping, going out to eat and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Crisp; mother, Eunice Smith Crisp; her first husband, Bobby Clark; son, Stephen Clark; and grandson, Stevie Clark.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth H. Caldwell; daughter, Christy Clark Myers; daughter, Gail Caldwell; son, Gary (Debby) Caldwell; daughter, Ruby Gay Caldwell; son, Greg (Al) Caldwell; and 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 4, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Church, with Rev. Doug Payne and Rev. Kevin Chapman officiating. Music was provided by Sara Kate Odom and Jeremy Payne.
Interment followed in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery in Bessemer City, North Carolina.
The family received friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of McCaysville, Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
