Mike Queen, or “Coach” as he was fondly referred to, age 70, of McCaysville, gained his new body and heavenly wings Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Emory Saint Joseph Hospital in a brave fight against COVID. His family was at his side.
Mike is survived by his beloved mother, Frances Queen; and his mother-in-law, Wanda Marler; his cherished wife, Billie; and his adored children, Jenna (Derek) Saxon, Michaela Caraway, Kaden Caraway and Chris (Alexandra) Smith; granddaughter, Claire Saxon; loving sister, Andrea (Roy) Plummer; devoted Aunt Pat; and numerous special cousins. He also leaves behind his brothers-in-heart, Tony (Deb) Marler, Larry Joe (Shirley) Sosebee and Jim (Jackie) Streer; his loving church family, and much loved former football and basketball players.
