Mary Ellen Adams, age 82, of Blue Ridge, passed away September 29, 2021, in the Union County Nursing Home.
She was born in Fannin County, to the late William Herbert Gilliam and Eddie Lee Morris Gilliam. She had worked at Levi Strauss and Whitepath Fabtech for a number of years. She was a long time member of the Hipps Chapel Church. Mrs. Adams was also preceded in death by her siblings, William “Bill” Gilliam, Helen Garrett and Bessie Holloway.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Bob Adams, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Kristy Adams of Macon, Georgia; grandson, Mike, and his wife, Nicole Adams, of Canton, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Allison Adams, Sawyer Adams, Brooklyn Adams and Peyton Adams; brother and sister-in-law, James Willis Gilliam and Leigh, of Buford, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Darrell Bennett of Powder Springs, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were conducted Monday, October 4, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music was by Darrell Bennett. Mike Adams served as pallbearer.
