Lexie Elizabeth Weaver, age 90, of McCaysville, formerly of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021, with her family by her side at Life Care Center of Copper Basin.
Lexie was born May 5, 1931, in Cherokee County, North Carolina, to the late Reverend Henry Grady Jones and Josephine Swanson Jones. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Dalton. Lexie was a homemaker, and she will be missed by all of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arvel Weaver; daughter-in-law, Becky Weaver of Franklin, Tennessee; granddaughter, Lisa Loudermilk; sisters, Lois Meek, Lettie Jones, and Lola Coleman; and brothers, James Elmer Jones, Windom Jones, Maynard Jones, Cecil Jones, J.L. Jones, Varnell Jones and Von Jones.
Lexie is survived by her daughters, Anita (David) Allen of McCaysville, and Linda (Jimmy) Randall of Gastonia, North Carolina; sons, Carroll (Sylvia) Weaver of Murphy, North Carolina, Harold Weaver of Franklin, Larry (Nellie) Weaver of Mineral Bluff, and Mike (Annette) Weaver of Murphy; as well as, 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 4, 2021, at 2 p.m. from Swanson Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Weaver and Pastor Carroll Weaver officiating. Music was provided by Brian Jones, Ron Jones and Tammy Ware. Graveside services followed in the Swanson Baptist Church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Amos Weaver, Tony Weaver, William Weaver, James Weaver, Will Weaver and Eric Weaver.
The family visited with friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m.
