Mrs. Kimberly Ellen Wood, age 51, of Morganton, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021, at her home.
She was born August 21, 1969, in Cobb County. Kimberly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Brown and Pricilla Brown.
Kimberly is survived by her husband, James Lamar “Jimmy” Wood; son, Justin Tyler Wood and his special friend, Megan Hill; sister, Betty Smith; step-sisters, Tracy Byers, Kim Caylor and Melissa Dillard; step-mother, Jean Caylor Brown; step-brother, Scott Caylor; mother-in-law, Anna Wood; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kay and Chuck Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 2 p.m.from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Chris Clark officiating. Music will be provided by Vernon Owenby.
Interment will follow at a later date in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home Saturday, June 26, 2021, from noon until the service hour of 2 p.m.
