Kenneth Holder

Kenneth Corben Holder, age 89, of Copperhill, passed away April 12, 2021, at his residence. 

He was born March 7, 1932, in Ducktown, to the late Richmond David “Wilburn” Holder and Carrie Evelyn Cook. Kenneth worked for over 30 years as a repairman for the Tennessee Copper Company and later worked for Shaw industries along with farming and sawmilling. He was a Master Mason, and he was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Postelle, Tennessee, being baptized into the church at 82 years old. Kenneth was an avid hunter, and he enjoyed gardening as he would feed everyone in the community out of his gardens. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patsy Taylor Holder; siblings, Paul Holder, Opal Passmore, Floyd Holder, Willard Holder and Barbara Jo Owenby; and sons-in-law, Dale Panter and Jim Mull.

Kenneth is survived by, his children, Joy Panter of Copperhill, Richmond Lynn (Mary Jane) Holder of Cleveland, Tennessee, Janet Patsy Mull of Copperhill, and Ella Jane (Chip) Reedy of Phenix City, Alabama; brother, Mitchell (Barbara) Holder of Copperhill; sister, Leeadice Holder of Ballground, Georgia; grandchildren, Heather Pudil, Heath Panter, Joshua Holder, Jenny Kirkpatrick, Justin Bailey, Jillian Huffman, Cameron Mull and Jessie Reedy; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Pudil, Benjamin Holder, Samuel Holder, Christiann Kirkpatrick, Gideon Kirkpatrick, Evangeline Kirkpatrick, Corben Bailey, Riley Bailey and Dalton Bailey.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 11 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Timmy Joe Hemming officiating. Music was provided by Cameron Mull, Kayla Hemming and Emily Hemming. 

Interment followed at the Holder Cemetery in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Heath Panter, Joshua Holder, Justin Bailey, Corben Bailey, Dalton Bailey and Riley Bailey. 

The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 5 p.m to 8 p.m.
