Juanita Born Tammen, age 72, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021, in Blue Ridge.

Juanita was born January 11, 1949, in Atlanta, to the late Joel Hilliard Born and Amanda Berry Born. She was a 1967 graduate of Druid Hills High School. She continued her education for a year at Young Harris College and then transferred to North Georgia College to finish her associates degree and become a Registered Nurse. Juanita was Director of the Birthing Center at Fannin Regional Hospital for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Heather Tammen, of Blue Ridge, Jamie and Jaime Born, of Blue Ridge; stepchildren and spouses, Kimberly and Anthony Walden, of Copperhill, and David and Emily Tammen, of Loganville, Georgia; sister, Beverly Turner, of Hoschton, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandon Walden, Jordan Walden, Brittney Stinnett, Dakota Born, David Tammen, Reid Tammen, Madison Tammen, Hayden Tammen, Cal Pope and Jeremy Tammen; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 1 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Pallbearers were Chet Akins, Buddy Rogers, Micah Born, Adam Born, Aaron Born and Greg Junnier. A private graveside service followed in Chastain Memorial Park.
