Mrs. Joyce Jane Culpepper Hampton, age 86, of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at her home. 

Mrs. Hampton was born in Etowah, Tennessee, September 7, 1933 ,to the late Rev. Jesse Paul Culpepper and Beulah Moses Culpepper. Mrs. Hampton and her husband, Jerry, were the owner and operators of Hampton Hardware. She was a member of First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill where she served as a Sunday School teacher as well as a member of the Merry Makers. 

Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Bill Culpepper, Hubert Culpepper, Loyce Seay, Betty Barnes, Pauline Galloway and Jimmy Culpepper.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jerry Hampton of Blue Ridge; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sharon Hampton of Blue Ridge; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Marcie Culpepper of Blairsville, Georgia; and two grandchildren, Amber Hampton and Nathan Hampton, both of Woodstock, Georgia.

Graveside services were conducted Saturday, August 22, 2020, at noon from Chastain Memorial Park with Min. Terry Stuart and the Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Pallbearers were Zack Welch, Jeff Welch, Shan Culpepper, Larry Dyer, Eric Dyer and Wayne Edwards. 

Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill, Shelly Vanderhorst and Missy Baker.
