James Turner Tresca was born October 13, 1927, in Jacksonville, Florida. 

He passed away at his home in Blue Ridge,  May 11, 2021. He owned and operated Tresca the Florist on Atlantic Boulevard in Jacksonville. He was a graduate of Landon High School Class of 1946, a veteran of the United States Navy and attended the University of Florida. 

His community activities in Jacksonville were numerous and included past President of the Arlington Lions Club from 1959 to 1960, past President of the Southside Businessmen’s Club in 1967, life membership in Sales and Marketing with 25 years of membership, member of Duval Lodge Number 159, Free and Accepted Masons, and Scottish Rite. He was a founding member of the Landon Alumni Association. He was a member of Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church in Blue Ridge. 

Mr. Tresca is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Ruby McBride; two daughters, Linda Tresca Hollis (Billy) and Nancy Tresca Gaulding (Rusty); two stepdaughters, Shirley Hemphill Towkach and Sally Hemphill Dubray (Joe); stepson, Mark Hemphill, nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 1 p.m. at St.  Luke’s Anglican Episcopal with Rev. Victor Morgan officiating. Music was by Eileen Kerr. 

Interment followed at Saint Luke’s Memorial Gardens.
