Jacob Stanley, age 85, of Talking Rock, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021.
He was born August 16, 1935 in Dial. Jacob retired from Jasper Rubber Company as a press operator.
He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and Blaine Masonic Lodge #534 F&AM for almost 60 years. Jacob loved his dog, Rocky, and cat, Simon. He enjoyed blue grass music.
Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Stanley and Aralcie Garland Stanley; wife, Bertie Hughes Stanley; son, Steve Stanley; and grandson, Jason Stanley.
Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Gina and Dempsey Jumper, Jr. of Talking Rock, and Anna and Joe Fontaine of Blue Ridge; sons and daughter-in-law, James Stanley of Ellijay, Georgia, and Mitchell and Teresa Stanley of Talking Rock; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 29, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. David Mashburn officiating. Music was by Seth Stanley. Masonic Rites were provided by the Blaine Masonic Lodge #534 F&AM.
Interment followed in the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Seth Stanley, Nathan Hunnicutt, Jacob Ray, Owen Mullinax, Dempsy Jumper, Jr. and Daniel Hunnicutt.
