Mr. Grady “Jack” Woodford Bryson Jr. passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at his residence in Epworth.

Mr. Bryson was born to the late Grady Bryson Sr and Tiney Garrett Bryson December 22, 1930. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Millsaps Bryson, parents, two brothers, one sister and a grandson.

He is survived by his children, David (Marti) Bryson, Denise (Danny) Caldwell and Wally (Kelly) Bryson; one sister, Evelyn Jones; one brother, Billy Bryson; six grandchildren, Amber (Chan) Mitchell, Ashlee (Alan) Picklesimer, Josh (Ann) Caldwell, Jack (Teresa) Caldwell, Will (Ashley) Bryson and Tucker Bryson; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Bryson served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served as a Staff First Sergeant. He was a retired businessman. He was a member of Harbor Ministries Church in McCaysville. Grady enjoyed many activities during his life including: hunting, fishing, singing, gardening, yard work and sports. He was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed a favorite television show entitled “Larry’s Country Diner.”

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of McCaysville. The family received friends for a time of visitation at First Baptist Church of McCaysville, Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. until the 3:30 p.m. funeral service hour. Josh Caldwell delivered an eulogy at the service and Dr. Chan Mitchell and Rev. Delmar Davenport officiated at the service. Pallbearers were family members, and the Harbor Ministries Seniors Class served as honorary pallbearers. Music was provided by the Bryson family. A private family interment service was held at the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating, and final military rites was conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations in memory of Grady Bryson be sent to Harbor Ministries, PO Box 388, McCaysville, Georgia, 30555.

Arrangements for Mr. Grady “Jack” Bryson Jr. were entrusted to the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville.
