Mrs. Glenda A. Petty, age 79, of Mineral Bluff, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. Petty was born August 4, 1942, in South Carolina to the late William Arthur Postell and the late Dessie Panter Postell. Mrs. Petty worked as a seamstress for multiple area companies until her retirement. She was known to feed anyone that visited her home and also loved attending church. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and sewing. She was a member of Hot House Baptist Church and was also a lifetime member of the Mary Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Mineral Bluff.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Doyal M. Petty, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Derek M. (Cindy) Petty, of Blue Ridge, and Denton M. (Hollye) Petty, of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Justin and Samantha Petty, Jerrod and Julie Petty, Jessie and Justin Queen and Sydney D. Petty; great-grandchildren, Ayda Petty, Judah Queen and Mac Petty; and several other family members and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 7, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Akins-Cobb with Rev. Danny Queen officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mineral Bluff with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Justin Petty, Jamie McClure, Jerrod Petty, Dustin Queen, Mason Kimsey and Matthew Kimsey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Petty’s memory to Hot House Baptist Church.
