Geneva Hyatt

Mrs. Geneva Henson Hyatt, age 89, of Mineral Bluff, died April 4 at Pruitt Healthcare in Blue Ridge.

She was born in Mineral Bluff, to the late Samuel Leonard and Icie Davis Henson. Her two brothers, Hoover and Joe, preceded her in death. Geneva was married to the late Reverend Allie Hyatt for 59 years. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Geneva worked in the home and raised five daughters. In 1978, she began working at Fannin County Nursing Home. She worked 27 years there in the housekeeping department. Geneva loved reading, shopping, working in her yard and watching Westerns. She was a wonderful mother, and she could always be counted on to step in and help out in any situation.

Survivors include five daughters, Glenda Keith (Wayne) of McDonough, Georgia, Debbie Nelson (Jim) of White, Georgia, Phyllis Ross (Roger) of Mineral Bluff, Donna Hanna of Blue Ridge, and Sherry Walker of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, David Keith, Brian Keith, Dwayne Milsaps, Amber Keith Vickers, Tiffany Ross Brown, Nathan Milsaps, Allyson Ross Tuck, Steven Nelson, Kimberly Ross, Megan Walker, Matthew Hanna and Madeline Walker; great-grandchildren, Parker Brown, Harrison Brown, Gavin Tuck, Caileigh Tuck, Emma Tidwell, Logan Vickers, Laney Vickers, Dakota Millsaps, Brittany Millsaps and Jaxton Hanna; one great-great-grandchild, Elliana Brown; and, sister-in-law, Jeanette McDaris (Jimmy).

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 7, at 11 a.m. at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home chapel. 

Interment followed at Salem #2 Baptist Church. Reverend John Newton officiated. Pallbearers were Michell Brown, Dwayne Milsaps, Nathan Milsaps, Steven Nelson, Matthew Hanna, Parker Brown and Michael Vickers.

The family received friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Tuesday, April 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
