Mrs. Frances Elaine McFarland Sisson, age 88, of Blue Ridge, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Parkridge Medical Center.
She was born January 4, 1933, to the late Fentus McFarland and Gertha Garren McFarland.
Frances was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Cecil Sisson; and eight of her siblings.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Doherty of Blue Ridge; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Kathy Sisson of Wayne, Michigan; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister, Iva Lee Priest of Taylor, Michigan.
Graveside services were conducted Friday, May 28, 2021, at 1:15 p.m. from the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens with Rev. Mark Huff officiating. Music was also provided by Rev. Mark Huff. Serving as pallbearers were James Weaver, Anthony Stanley, Keith McFarland, Rev. Mark Huff, Robert Doherty and Junior White.
The family has requested that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Sisson to the charity of your choice.
