Don Sones

Donald Edward Sones, age 74, of Blue Ridge, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021. 

He was born December 8, 1946, in Picayune, Mississippi, to the late Edward Clen Sones and Mary Miller Sones. Don retired from the Mississippi State College Board, where he worked in Financial Aid. After moving to Blue Ridge, he worked for Bill Jones Wrecker Service for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. Don is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer Sones; and sister, Ann Lee.

Don is survived by his wife, Linda Sones; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Kathy Sones; daughters and sons-in-law, Heather M. Sones, Kerri and Shannon Kinser, and Angela and Kevin Peppers; grandchildren, Joel Kinser, James Kinser, Kaylee Kinser, Clara Peppers and Collin Peppers; brother and sister-in-law, James and Kate Sones; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay and John Palmer and Barbara and Roland Hall; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Ken and Patricia Harvey; and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge with Rev. Bob Richardson and Rev. Harold Willis officiating. 

Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shan Culpepper, Phillip Arnall, Mark Dressler, John Carey, Tony Nelson and Roger Beavers. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Jones and the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge.
