Donald Lee “Don” Roberts, age 71, of Morganton, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, Georgia.

Don was born March 24, 1950, in Atlanta, to the late Emmett Lee Roberts and Anna Leon Cox Roberts. Don was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era.

He also served as a firefighter and paramedic with the Clayton County Fire Department for 34 years. Along with his parents, he was recently preceded in death by his wife, Carol Elaine Mann Roberts; and one granddaughter, Emily Nix.

He is survived by two sons, Billy Lee (Tanya) Roberts, of Locust Grove, Georgia, and Brian Lee (Angie) Roberts, of McDonough, Georgia; a stepson, Paul Queen of Ellijay, Georgia; one stepdaughter Stacey (Benjie) Ensley, of Blue Ridge; one sister, Gail Turner, of Morrow, Georgia; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, October 23, 2021, at noon from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady Ray officiating.

Interment followed in the Young’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentleman serving as pallbearers: Devin Lee Roberts, Kenneth Lee Roberts, Robert Barnett, Braylon Nix, Anthony Sandelier and Steve Gray.

Colton Blake Roberts served as an honorary pallbearer.
